There are two main styles of fibers that can be incorporated in to the X-turf™system. Like the infill process, all have their inherent benefits, and, depending on the client’s desires, draw backs. No matter which fiber is desired by the client on the X-Turf™ system, the weight of material will never be less than 40 ounces per square yard, with the standard systems being provided in the mid forties. Durability
The overall durability of your field is related to the backing system which creates the foundation, and the fiber matrix which will need to handle the daily wear and tear required by your field and provide not only the aesthetic appearance, but performance characteristics needed over the life of the field. Using better backings and fibers equals longer life of your field

Backing
The primary backing system in any turf product is an invisible but important function. The dimensions of a synthetic turf cannot change under the influence of circumstances (fold, shrink or deform) which can lead to the distortion of lines and ruin your field. A thick, layered backing is a part of all the X-Turf™ systems and will never have a weight of less than eight ounces per square yard, typically with a weight above ten ounces. The primary backing system will only be coated with a minimum of 22 ounces of urethane per square yard, with standard systems having a weight of approximately 26 ounces.
